Woah! Its been like 4-5 months since last post?
I am coming back! Finally on the last leg of the journey, and god damn am I lazy. I can't be on the internet anymore, I end up wasting full days when I have real things to do. Gah!
New York has been. . .interesting? Well more interesting than it was last year. I am actually sort of sad to be leaving, things are picking up steam, shit is happening, new potential friends are in the mix. And then, well hopefully it will be static and pick up right where it left off when I come back.
That's a lie, it won't. Oh well! I will adjust.
I can't fucking wait to be able to watch Iron Man and Batman: The Dark Knight. Iron Man will be literally the first thing I do when I come home. Someone should accompany me.
Although, Colby (my roommate) has been going to movies alone recently. He says that it is not depressing, claiming that his father does it. I suppose thats true, there is hardly any interaction at a movie. Except, I did ruin Juno for Andrew by making overly homosexual actions. Totally emasculating, but completely worth it.
I have a friend whose father does it as well. But then again, he represents some of the people in there. But even if he didn't I think he gets a sincere joy from movies. Not sure, he seems to like every single movie. That family is however, odd. Very Nice though, the nice being capitalized for emphasis and is not a typo that I am too lazy to edit. |

All my new roomates are asian.
I haven't spoken to one of them yet, and we have been living in the same apartment for four days. I think I nodded to him once, but that was it. I'm pretty sure he hates me though, because he saw me messily eating a grapefruit for breakfast.
At one point we were all in the same room and no one was talking, very awkward. |

Hmm so many have asked me about the ninja sword present in my profile picture and how I came by owning one.
And truth be told, I found it one day upon walking into my dorm, just sorta lying there under our tv.
According to the gospel of truth otherwise known as the guy stephen who i sit next to in lecture for word cultures-
"You find a ninja sword in your room, it means someones a ninja"
Well, Ben doesn't like ninjas. Pratik is Indian, and also upon asked if he was a ninja ran around the room yelling "I am a ninja," which lets face it, is the least ninja thing you can do.
That only leaves Peter and I. Now peter wants to be a Buddhist monk, and espouses peace, so obviously he cannot be a ninja.
So who else but I. This left me skeptical and confused for many a moon. I pondered how I could be a ninja, yet not know that I am a ninja, even Batman knew he was batman. Then it dawned upon me like a tablecloth violently ripped from atop a table.
Maybe, oh maybe, I was such a good ninja that I hid my identity and ninja stature (cause lets face it, physically a ninja I aint) from myself. Such sacrifice. I can only look about in awe at the majesty that is my ninja self. I am working on some preliminary drawings depicting me in action (although I can't draw).

Most ridiculous conversation with a maintenance worker today-
So I needed to do laundry today so I go down and you know put my shit in the laundry machine and when its done washing i go down again to put it in the dryers.
I notice that there is a lot of smoke and noise, so I look and the laundry machine next to me is making a lot of noise, shaking, and billowing smoke.
So I go to a maintenance worker and say
"I think something is wrong with the machine because it is making noise, smoke, and shaking"
he automatically responds "Ok, to turn on the laundry machine you need to put quarters into it or use campus cash"
Me- I realize that but I think one of the laundry machines is on fire
Him- Oh which one is it?
Me- I forget the actual number but it would be the one that is making a lot of noise and has smoke coming out of it. It is kinda hard to miss
Him- Ok we will send someone down soon to check it out. Stay there to show them which one it is
So I'm like ok whatever. They are kinda stupid but whatever. So I go down and I wait for like 10 minutes. Notice no one is coming and realize that I am probably being killed because all I am inhaling is smoke and I feel lightheaded. So, I put my clothes in the dryer and leave

wow, fuck this crap.
Never have things taken so long for me to get. Ever.
I don't I sort of just got things in high school. Friends, the material on the board, etc.
that ability seems to have been stripped.
Anyway, I got pretty angry at a friend today. Kind of odd, really. You know I haven't gotten angry at anyone since I came to college. The yell in your face walk away and make you feel really bad sort of angry.
It has basically been a bad month. A very bad month.
LIke what has happened is that I have work in like physics or lab or math so i get behind on my reading. But it doesn't help my physics grade because I still don't fully get the material we are working on because we move so fast through everything. A concept that would take a week of talking will get covered in 55 minutes.
And because I have to spend so much time for that I don't get enough time to read the material that I need for all my other classes. And when I do have time I am either too exhausted or its saturday or something. So I don't do it. So, I have to cram for the midterm, which just means that I don't do as good as I can on the midterm, or I can't bring up points in lecture. And my discussion skills go to lack.
And I work instead of socialising. Which I should be doing, and I am not satisfied with the friends that I have. Not at all. I guess I am used to real friends, the kind that you can lean on and sleep on given the inclination. I miss playing with hair, ear rings, stomachs, etc and not being given a weird glance.
I miss talking about things that don't really matter and not feeling bad about it.
And my philosophy class is Ethics. And seriously. Fuck Ethics. Fuck it hard with a mallet or something, just as long as it stays fucked for a long time.
Honestly, ethics has got to be the most idiotic concept for a philospher to spend time on. Who the fuck cares ultimately? And by the time that Ethics becomes established or becomes a "theory" it is so out of touch with the people that it is trying to talk about that only another philospher would see the point in it.
I say the word consequentalism and what it implies to my friends and they laugh, because it does not reflect the way that we are living, or the way that any one could live. Including the people who are talking about the crap.
And that leads to such strung out sappy notions of consequentalism, which great a yuppie idealistic douchebag would look at and instantly fall in love with. But when you have to actually read the moronic thought experiments that are used to justify this crap. It is insane.
And my TA, who is the nicest guy ever, looks up all happy and says that he loves the thought experiments and that is all philosophy is and I die a little bit on the inside. Because they are moronic. I don't honestly give a rats ass if Jim decides to kill Pedro because otherwise the Native Americans would die and what deontology would respond to it. Because the answers seem obvious. The need to establish such nuancies as whether there is a agent-relative risk or not seems to be useless and ultimately just taking a huge step back.
And yet, despite all of these things. I think that I am enjoying college to some degree. Although I wonder how much of that is because I feel as if I should. Or maybe its the liberation. I don't know really.
I can't really remember high school. That scares me. |

I was walking with one of my NYU friends and he was telling me that one of the jokes that I usually tell was hurting one of my friend's feelings (lowering the amount of jokes I am allowed to say to zero)
He followed up the request (tidbit of information?) with-
"It's so weird when you are mean, you are usually so polite"
I stopped in my tracks, I guess my personality changes?
Onto bigger things I was checking out penisland.net on the behest of andrew and I found this gem-

Yes, there is a Arcade Fire concert on the week of my birthday. I think this will make a good present to a myself.
Now if only my nyu friends liked the Arcade Fire. . . eh, I have two months I can find a fellow fan of the Arcade Fire
there is also a Ok Go concert sometime in march, not so sure if I wanna go. Probably will end up going anyway. |
